I work with a wide range of state and local government clients, delivering assurance services grounded in open communication, collaboration, and teamwork. I prioritize transparency and proactive dialogue throughout every engagement, so there are no surprises, and my clients feel informed and confident in the process we embark on together.
By identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, accountability, and efficiency, I help my clients strengthen their internal controls and financial reporting processes. For example, in one engagement, I worked with a client to enhance their internal financial review procedures, redesigning workflows, and increasing accountability within the review process. These improvements enabled my client to detect and correct inaccurately recorded transactions BEFORE they resulted in a potential material misstatement, ultimately strengthening the reliability and integrity of their financial reporting — all while creating a more proactive review process for the future.
I began my career in 1997 with the state of California, where I developed a strong foundation in government operations and accounting. I later worked with various city and local government entities, including the City of Sacramento, further deepening my knowledge of public-sector financial management. I joined MGO in 2006, where I continue to focus on state and local governmental assurance services, providing auditing and advisory support to public agencies across a broad range of jurisdictions.
