Peter has more than 26 years of governmental audit experience and primarily serves public sector entities including seaports, cities, counties, transportation authorities, airports, water and power utilities, sewer, sanitation districts, special districts, Tribal governments, and related various enterprises including casinos, golf courses, hotels, and gas stations.
Peter has extensive experience with large, complex California cities with many component units, utilities, and departments/ programs. He has assisted many governments navigate the complexities of evaluating and reporting newly formed component units, drafting complex note disclosures, and implementing new accounting pronouncements. He has also worked with many large complex water, wastewater and electric utilities assisting his clients with rates analysis, infrastructure construction and related financing accounting matters and covenant compliance.
Peter has made numerous presentations covering topics related to generally accepted accounting principles promulgated by the GASB, and audit standards, promulgated by the AICPA and the GAO. Peter has also frequently presented various accounting, auditing, and single audit topics to clients, MGO employees, and to professional organizations across the United States.
