MGO Founder Honored by San Diego Chamber
Sacramento, CA (April 25, 2008) – Kenneth A. Macias, founder and chairman of one of the 500 largest Hispanic-owned businesses in the nation, was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” at this year’s San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2008 Annual Iluminada Fundraising Gala, with proceeds to benefit the SDCHCC Scholarship fund, in San Diego on April 5, 2008.
Macias is the founder and chairman of Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP (MGO), a leading certified public accounting, management consulting and temporary personnel services firm with offices throughout California. MGO is recognized by Public Accounting Report magazine as the 29th fastest growing CPA firm in the nation and was named one of the largest 500 Hispanic-owned businesses in the country by Hispanic Business magazine.
Macias was honored for his leadership of a successful professional services firm in the largest revenue category, “over 5 million in annual revenues.” MGO earned $20M in revenue in 2007.
Along with being a CPA, Macias holds a Doctorate in Public Administration, Auditing & Finance and is an active member of the Government Finance Officers’ Association and the American Society for Public Administration. Macias’s past successes include serving on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Auditing Standards Board and helping to create accounting standards as a Governmental Accounting Standards Board task force participant.
