Sacramento, CA (June 21, 2012) – Kevin Starkey, CPA and Eugene Ma, CPA have been admitted to the Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP (MGO) partnership. MGO is a leading certified public accounting, consulting and business management firm with offices in Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area, LA/Century City, Newport Beach and San Diego.

Kevin Starkey has served MGO for 14 years in the firm’s public services group and has expertise in leading large, complex municipal audits. In 2011, he became office managing director for the firm’s San Diego office, focusing his talents on serving the City and County of San Diego among other premier clients in the region. Kevin graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting. He has also participated with the Governmental Finance Officers Association’s Special Review Committee for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program.

Kevin is an expert in municipal accounting and has served as a training specialist and presenter on numerous topics. He is recognized by his clients, staff and others within the firm as a valuable source of reliable, accurate professional guidance and a dedicated mentor of staff.

Eugene Ma has 12 years of professional experience in MGO’s bay area assurance practice. He is a leader in the firm’s transportation and transit industry group and has served a wide variety of clients including publicly-traded companies, privately held businesses and government entities. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He also received the Henry Rand Hatfield Award as the top accounting student in his class.

Along with providing highly rated service to varied clients, Eugene’s contributions to MGO include serving as a resource and trainer during technology implementations and leading training events in audit methodology, stock compensation, financial reporting and revenue recognition.
