MGO Director Caroline Walsh Appointed to AICPA Expert Panel
Sacramento, CA (September 25, 2006) – Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP (MGO), a statewide certified public accounting and management firm, announced that Caroline Walsh, Director, has been appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) State & Local Government Expert Panel.
The Expert Panel discusses auditing and accounting issues related to state and local governments. The panel also reviews Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), AICPA and Government Accountability Office (GAO) proposed literature and provides comments to standard-setting bodies. The panel is responsible for writing the audit guidance to the AICPA membership through its updates of Audit Risk Alerts and Accounting and Audit Guides for state and local governments and single audits under OMB Circular A-133. “With this appointment, Caroline is one of 15 experts in the U.S. selected to represent the profession,” noted MGO Managing Partner Kevin O’Connell. “It demonstrates that she is one of the brightest and most talented technical professionals in the country.” Ms. Walsh will serve on the panel for the fiscal year Oct 1, 2006-September 30, 2007. The appointment is reviewed annually and can be extended to a three-year term.
