Q&A.

Why are you passionate about accounting?

Public accounting allows me to interact with so many interesting and diverse people on a daily basis. And it is so gratifying to be able to provide clients with help, assistance and guidance in my chosen profession.

Why do you like working at this firm?

Although I just recently joined MGO, it was immediately apparent that this is a terrific group of people – from all levels of responsibility, from the receptionist to the founding partners. Everyone has a common goal: to provide the finest possible service to our clients.

Describe a favorite client or client story.

Having been in practice for more than 35 years, I have many favorite stories. Each time I’m able to provide a bit of advice or help a client through a sticky situation, their “thank you” is my favorite story for that day. I look forward to many more of these opportunities to create new favorite stories.

What qualities do you look for in job applicants?

Evaluating job applicants is one of the hardest tasks. Assuming a candidate has the requisite experience for the position, I look for passion; I look for eagerness; I look for dedication. Above all, I look for a desire to excel.

Who are you outside the office?

I am a husband to my wife, Sue, and a father to my two daughters and son. I am a devoted soccer enthusiast (as a spectator, not a participant). I love reading books, newspapers and magazines. My favorite is “Scientific American,” and I especially enjoy articles about anthropology and astronomy.
