Q&A
Why are you passionate about public accounting?
It provides me unlimited opportunities to promote my potential. As MGO has continually grown, entrepreneurial thought has consistently been encouraged, which in turn supports my own personal growth.
Why do you like working at MGO?
Watching staff develop over time professionally and personally is extremely rewarding. We foster close relationships with people who are here and people who have moved on to other challenges and still keep in touch with us.
Describe a favorite client or client story.
One story that I’ll always remember is observing three of our staff members working 24 hours side by side with a client to meet their deadline -- and managing to have fun doing it. They were not only showing complete commitment to the client’s success by pulling a day-long shift, they were also laughing and enjoying working together. This is a special group of people. They showed pride in accomplishing a quality report and they weren’t even cranky over the long hours!
What qualities do you look for in job applicants?
I seek individuals with an internal competitive edge, who desire to get more out of themselves. For college grads, this internal drive should be balanced with a well-rounded combination of coursework that shows a commitment to people as well as technical skills. Communications skills are a plus, demonstrated through academic leadership or their outside endeavors. The best candidate is driven to excel and brings a balanced background along with the ability to have some fun.
Who are you outside the office?
I’m dedicated to ensuring that our seven year old is good. I would like him to be constantly curious.
